What's a liberal arts - business option degree for?

I'm in community college, and I started off majoring in liberal arts - writing. I soon realized that would be terrible for getting a job, and I have some interest in business, but I haven't officially changed my major yet. I'm taking accounting and economics right now, though.

I'm moving across the country to California next year, enough time for me to finish getting a degree. Then, I'll continue my education in a state college after I become a state resident, 6-12 months.

I'm going to schedule a visit with a counselor soon, but I want to know where to start, what to ask. Any insight will be appreciated!

People who major in Liberal Arts aren't quite sure what they want to do...nothing wrong with that, but as you've mentioned, it's not what employers are looking for.

Business is a major for people who would otherwise major in Liberal Arts, BUT who want a job, however, they still don't know what they want to do.

You should ask your counselor about internships for this summer since you're not on a strict schedule. I recommend NOT getting an internship working in some cubicle, rather, find something out of the ordinary if possible. The only way to figure out what you want to do is to do a bunch of stuff and find out what you *don't* want to do.
