Disc drive is stuck - any ideas?
My disc drive on my Toshiba laptop is stuck. It's been temperamental since I watched a movie in my bedroom (no, not porn.) I checked it and nothing at all is caught in it, but it will only open about 1/8 of an inch. I don't want to force it open and can't find any other way to get in - does anyone have an idea for me?
Thanks - it's no longer on the bed, it's on the desk where it belongs, with nothing on, under or around it. I did try to manually open it but I'm thinking something underneath is bent and caught. That's kind of what it feels like.

Try to manually open it. To do this find a paperclip and straighten it. Then find the hole that manually opens the dick drive this hole is somewhere on the disk drive you should find it. This should work.
Hope this helps.

It will only open when the laptop is turned on.If it is still stuck then it could be that the laptop is on your bed or the tray blocked by something else, try lift the laptop so it is free of encumbrances and then press the open tray button again.
You can actually remove the whole tray from the laptop, there is a sliding switch underneath to release the tray but also a screw you have to remove, firstly.
