It's called looking for it.

The number 1 comes before the number 3 quite often in number sequences and almost every street and block of flats is going to have house 13.

i have a friend who always sees the number 265 or 2653, especially in license plates. I always ask him, how many license plates did you see today that did NOT have that number in them? And he can never answer that question. As someone else said, confirmation bias, nothing more.
