Are girls/women terrible actors?

Question

I want to know if what I'm thinking is pretty accurate information or if it's just some strange opinion I've formed. I think that girls/women are terrible actors; I find that if a movie has too many female characters or a main character who's female, it's bad... Unless the female character is a very young girl, under the age of 12, because that's sweet >•<. I think that most movies with too many or a main female character tend to be tacky,shallow and just.... Makes me roll my eyes. Do you also think this way or am I the only one?

It is an opinion that you have formed because undeniably most great films have leading male actors. If there is an amazing leading actress in a great movie it is often split by a male with just as much screentime such as Leaving Las Vegas, Lost in Translation, Revolutionary Road and Troubled Water.

Not at all, women are not terrible actresses, try to watch movies from Audrey Hepburn, Helena Bonham Carter or Meryl Streep. The problem is that nowadays, commercial film directors dont look for talent, look for beauty, because as we've heard more than once "sex sells", the image you have created is quite valid if you've seen commercial films.
