My mum is in hospital with malaria and she is recovering slowly but her blood count?

is very low which is causing her to be very weak. I miss her so much at home and finding it really hard and just want to cry when I get home or see her. I know that is not fair on her but I really care about her and and want her to recover. I feel helpless as I can't do anything for her and just feel like I want to lie with her in the hospital bed and cling on to her and not let go. I know that makes me sound like a little girl but she means the world to me and the doctors have said her blood count needs to go up because she could die god forbid otherwise. Any suggestions on what to do and how to cope would be much appreciated, many thanks.

Low blood count isnt the end of the world.

She may need a transfusion and thats it, she just needs time to make new red blood cells.

Shes weak because her body is lacking oxygen because of her low blood count

While this can be a fatal even in most countries, it is typically very treatable in the western world. Would visit and take a homemade Get Well card.
