I know it makes a word for a sound but what would it sound like?

    It's a word which sounds like the sound it represents: sizzle, buzz, whoosh, etc.

    it sounds like what it means. Hoot of an owl.; snap of the fingers; toot (or honk) of the horn; click of the door latch.

    Some examples are "chickadee", "swoosh", "bob white". Does that help?
