Can military training count as a firearms safety course in iowa?

I'm getting ready to get a handgun permit. The website says I need to complete a safety course. I am a reservist. I also completed a hunters safety course when I was younger. If I bring in a copy of my dd214 would that count as a firearms safety course.

Update:

You must be some sort of hippie. The US Military is, not a murderous gang of thugs. We don't gun down people for the heck of it.They do actually have a buttload of professional safety training. Probably more than cops. It's obvious you don't know. So don't try to act that way .

I don't think so because the rules of war are different than the laws of self defense. Firearms safety courses include when you are justified to shoot ...or not.

In VA all you have to do is show your DD214 and you can get a CHP. All you have to do is check your State laws.

    Yes, the same as Florida.
