Siamese Fighting Fish in a community tank?

Has anyone place a Siamese Fighting Fish in a community tank? I heard that as long as the other fish don't have big fins ... that a Siamese Fighting Fish-Betta can live peaceful with other fish ... Oh i also heard don't place fish that are known to nibble fish fins like the silver dollar fish or tiger barbs ... has anyone attempt this ... i tempted to try but don't like to take a chance ...

I don't have an answer but I want to know the same thing! I've seen people do it before but I dont know how they did it without a fatality. I heard that you also cant put a male Betta in a tank with other fish that are the same color. Hoping someone can clear this up for us!

in that length tank it truly is a threat in spite of the incontrovertible fact that it would be a brilliant probability. one million. how efficient is your clear out? if there's a hefty present day blowing by using a betta might warfare to swim and discover his dinner in a tank that super. 2. barbs, angelfish and gouramis do no longer make stable betta tank buddies. the tiger barbs are infamous fin nippers, the angelfish may be nippy to boot rather if it truly is a breeding pair, and gouramis come from the comparable kinfolk as bettas and could come to blows, the gourami is larger and in many cases wins. my present day rescue became in a tank with paradise fish (one among those gourami) he had no fins left. none. he's chuffed in a tank on my own now to regrow.

i got one in with black skirt tetra's and albino tetra's and molly's/ yes my betta is fine. then i got one in with bottom feeders, angel fish, they were fine till the angel fish got bigger. they attack the betta. i have one in with guppies and zebra danios. i been watching them becasue of the colors and i never seen my fish attack.. just make sure you have plenty of hiding spots for the betta.

also some betta's dont get along with fish, i have one i got to keep by its self becasue it attacks my fish. and the other male betta;s are calm with there tank mates.
