orchard question - has it died ?

I have an orchard that has dried out but the base, the root system is still green, will it regrow ?

    You mean an Orchid, not Orchard. Orchids like high humidity but don't actually like their roots to be soggy wet and require less water in the winter. I would give it a little water and let it drain right off and give the leaves a spray with either tepid water or special orchid spray that you can get from the garen centre. Do not water again for another week. Hopefully it will survive.

    I'm not sure, if you could try adding some fertilizer to the soil and water the plant thoroughly it has a chance to grow back. If it fails to grow back, you could try composting to make sure the same problem won't occur to any of your other plants.

    it's the cold they are not meant for our climate they are very difficult to manage in this weather they are grown in heated greenhouses with special lighting to look beautiful but when they leave that enviroment it becomes hard for them to survive unless you can replace it
