Which one has the better plotline gakuen Alice or fruits basket?

It definitely depends on your opinion and what you prefer to see in an anime/manga. It is also important to note that the manga for Fruits Basket is a lot better than it's anime, so it depends on if you are talking about Fruits Basket the anime and Gakuen Alice the anime, or their manga version. I really didn't like Fruits Basket's anime and preferred Gakuen Alice's anime over it (Gakuen Alice had cuter animations, cuter characters, better drawings, went at a faster pace, had more comedy, while Fruits Basket lagged and the animation left more to be desired). Fruits Basket's manga, however, tops Gakuen Alice in so many ways.

Fruits Basket's plot in the manga is a lot better than Gakuen Alice. Gakuen Alice I still enjoyed, don't get me wrong, since I usually recommend people to read (or watch their anime) both. Fruits Basket is a lot more unique, however. Gakuen Alice contains some cliches and can be predictable at times. Fruits Basket catches you by surprise, the plot twists are incredible, and you can never expect what will happen in it.

For instance, I read through all of Fruits Basket's manga volumes in one week. I just could not put them down! Seriously. On that Saturday that I started the series I read it for 8 hours straight....

Fruits Basket is best.
