University Questions Information Security.?

You will not be able to get into a Master's Program in IS directly from Devry, if you want to go to a good University. University in Canada also only costs about 1/3 to 1/2 of what it does in the U.S. The University of Toronto and McGill are in the top 20 Universities in the World. Both have highly regarded Information Security Programs. As well, the University of Waterloo has been renowned in Information Technology and Security for the last 10 years. Other great schools are McMaster, UBC, Queens, Western Ontario, etc.

I was in the IT and Information Security industry for 17 years and can tell you that the pay is very high (expect 50% more salary than an IT Degree), and the prospects are phenomenal. It is one of the few Degrees that will aid you in getting a Green Card in the U.S. (as there are currently too few people with the credentials in the U.S.), as attending school with a Student Visa only allows you to stay in the U.S. until you are finished with your degree.

I would suggesth aving money by attending a World Ranked Top 50 University in Canada for your Bachelors (if you haven't completed it, yet), and Master's, then, write your CISSP, and start applying for jobs in the U.S., if that's where you want to live. Then, your student loans won't be nearly as high.
