Starting video on YouTube?

First off, I am a teenager (almost 17) but not one of those annoying, preppy, no brains one. I watch a lot of beauty guru's from Michelle Phan to some less known ones but are still kind of big. I would like to be a form of beauty guru, but I wanna take it a step further and be more unique. I want to make a guru channel for those people who HATE to be the same as everyone else, who maybe are a little nerdy or like art instead of cheerleading, have more statement pieces and those statement pieces say have a cartoon character or movie logo instead of just be a slightly brighter color. Any thoughts, and any more advice?

P.S. : I do have a decent to high quality camera, and have acting skills (from being on stage and what not)

Well I'd start by explaining what you've just put there in your video, write it down first if you have to and read it off the paper. Explain what you're going to do in your videos, what you want to achieve or talk about what kind of things you like to wear or the way you do your hair- hey that rhymed o.o - or whatever you're going to do in your videos.

Or you could totally leave the intro and just dive right in to whatever you're planning to do.

My first video wasn't...a huge success, so maybe shouldn't take my advice, but just do whatever you feel is best. Once you've gotten past the 5 or 6th video, it'll feel like you've broke into your YouTube channel a little bit. Even if you only have like 5 subscribers by then, it'll still feel like a great achievement. Sorry this answer is so long, my fingers just run away with me /: ..
