The Americans won, but it's called "the War for Independence", sort of the same way many Southern Americans refer to the US Civil War as "The War Between the States".

No, as far as we are concerned, the Americans lost the revolutionary war, in the same way the Vietnamese lost that war.

Yes of course they teach that we won and are no longer subjects of The Crown. It seems aparent that this is correct.
