What month should we get married?
Me and my partner have just got engaged, we have in mind the type of wedding we want and that involves an outdoor reception. We need to set a date but i'm so unsure due to typical british weather (we live in the south of England). Ideally I want it warm and dry! What month should we go for? And any ideas on back up plans if its a wash out?!

Fall months are usually very pretty and elegant because the leaves are changing colors and are falling. If you got married outside in September, I can see lines of trees with brightly colored orange, red and brown leaves covering the ground and tree branches. There would be a light and warm breeze in the air, and the sky would be bright and the sun would be shining. It would be so peaceful and beautiful!! Good luck and I wish for the best of your marriage!!

Consult an almanac to see what weather is like in your area.
Not only do you want to avoid rain, but you also don't want it to be too hot or cold. Or humid, full of bugs, etc.
If it's sunny, remember to provide shade. Also consider a tent, parasols, paper fans, maybe some cheap sunglasses in a basket, sunscreen, bug spray, encourage people to wear hates, etc.
Prices may also vary by month, so decide what works best for your budget. Popular wedding dates are more money.
You can't predict the weather, so have an indoor location (or a sturdy tent/shelter) on standby if needed. Try renting a facility that has an indoor ballroom or something, as well as a large yard where you can have your outdoor party if the weather's nice. That way you can easily move inside if things get rough.
