Mazda B2000 gas smell?

My 1987 B2000 (57,000 miles) stinks up the entire garage with gas odor after being driven on a short, around town trip. Auto choke seems to be functioning OK. No apparent gas leaks. Pre heater pipe is partially disconnected. Starts and runs fine otherwise. Any ideas?

if it is carburated it is in need of adjustment (im guessing so if you are saying autochoke)

If it is fuel injected a temp sensor may be out or the oxygen sensor

!987 model year, gas smell after short trips... my bet is a crack or a loose connection in some part of flex gas line between the tank and the engine. Over that period of time rubber gas lines dry out on the outsides just like tires. You can't see the leak because it may only show when the lines are under pressure or suction depending on the location of the fuel pump and where it is. Remember it doesn't have to be a big leak for fumes to get pretty strong. Start at the engine and work your way back to the tank, scrutinizing every inch of the lines. Don't forget any connections at a fuel filter if it has one or the filter canister itself..

attempt it. drain the oil and take a spoon comprehensive off the proper. be very careful, yet positioned a event to the oil and spot if it lighting up. the oil will no longer burn, so if it lighting on fireplace you have fuel leaking into your oil. it rather is unquestionably no longer the fuel pump. fuel is coming from the carb and not burning making this is way down during the cylinder into the oil pan verify for possibly a lifeless cylinder
