What do British interviewers want to know when they ask: What is your best achievement?

In secretarial work the job description is what you would expect and is task-driven. It's not my responsibility to be revenue-driven and raise percentage points or to set out to win awards on behalf of the company. Do they want to hear how I handled a sucessful audit? Won't they think technically the files belong to my boss and I simply made sure they were filed correctly. It is hard to have an ego about such things. Any advice. What could be a secretarial achievement?

They want to know if you are a driven person and achieve results or if you just plod along.

Do you see opportunities for improvement such as changing a filing system to make it more efficient or are you the kind of person who just uses what is there and never makes suggestions or looks to make things easier for themselves and others?

Whether you think the sun shines out of your ***. If you go on for half an hour like one of those freaks on 'the apprentice', they know that you will be impossible to work with, and they cross you off the list.
