1950s wedgewood stove - is my burner & oven broken?
have a 40in 1930-50s wedgewood stove, its a model that has a center griddle and 4 burners plus two ovens (maybe one is a broiler and one is an oven) and two more drawers underneath.
now am i doing something wrong? oven doesnt seem to get hot, nor the broiler. are they broken? i checked underneath the metal plates in each compartment and the pilot is on. how many minutes or seconds does it take or am i turning the knob wrong (looks like the knob can be pushed in)? the 4 burners on top work fine.
i inherited this stove so im clueless
oops im ean 1950s stove, not 30s. its got the clock on and salt and pepper shakers up top. looks pretty much like this one http://cn1.kaboodle.com/hi/img/2/0/0/10b/b/AAAAAuW...

FIND and HOLD (for a minute) the hidden red button. It's there somewhere, in a drawer or something (use a flashlight, and try to follow the oven gas tubing). The pilot will light but the oven burner will not until you find that weird red button. I suppose it might be some other color, but most of the ones I've seen are red.

If I remember right these had a thermal coupling in front of the pilot lite. Little bar that sticks up in front of the pilot light. If those go out they will not light. So you will need remove and find one to replace it. 1950s may be hard to find. If you can not find a thermal coupling you may need replace the safety shut off and coupling. Sometimes you can rub them with a piece of fine emery and make work again for a short period of time.
