My microwave is arcing, no metal in sight, worth repairing or not?

No metal, arcs when paper plate is placed inside, no metal on walls of micro.

It's unfortunately usually cheaper to just buy a new one. Old microwaves tend to become hazards as well. By the time you pay a repair guy it will cost you around the same.

A brand new microwave oven can be had for as little as $60 and a fairly nice one for $100. A service call for a typical appliance repair guy—without doing anything but arriving at the door—begins at $75. Taking the oven to an appliance repair shop and having it assessed is likely to cost more than $35.

No, it is probably not worth it.

Our over the diversity Litton microwave oven continues to be going solid after 27 years of service. the sole aspect that went wrong with it replaced into a fuse that lastly blew out and i replaced 2 years in the past. despite the fact that, in case your magnetron is definitely the priority, that might point out a layout project abnormal on your microwave. i think in case your not going to tinker with it your self to save the service call, i would bite the bullet and get a brand new one if you imagine the magnetron went out lower back.

Probably not but not enough info to give a proper answer.

    Cost to replace?

    Financial situation?

Can you fix it yourself or know someone who will do it free or cheap?

Any possible causes for the arcing?
