sore throat after fever went away?

3 days ago i woke up with a fever that would always be 101-103. i took Excedrin and it would make my fever go down for a few hours. yesterday i woke up with no fever, but a sore throat. this morning, i looked at my throat in the mirror and it was red and looked swollen. there were no white spots on my tonsils or red spots on the roof of my mouth. i drank tea and water and ate cough drops and the pain went down a little bit but it still is tender when i swallow. can it be strep throat still even though my fever is gone, and the only thing that hurts is my throat?

We can' t know, only your doctor will know. It could be strep throat, but it could also be sore from sinus drainage....it is possible that with the temperature up, you had the flu or sinus issues and nasal drainage when you were sleeping would give you a sore throat too. If you snored when you were sleeping......from the fever, that could also give you a sore throat.
