In the state of New York, what is the age of compulsory education for a student with a 504 plan?
I am trying to advocate for someone who is already 16 but has a 504 plan due to a disability. Is the age of compulsory education still 16, or does this person have longer? Thank you!

All a 504 plan does is provide accommodations to non-curriculum areas. It does not change the age they have to be in school.
A student can drop out of school at 16. But if they exit school---and also stop being enrolled in school, they are no longer entitled to special education services. The procedures are different for homeless students specifically still enrolled in school.
It's important to ensure this student has a transition plan and also starts learning how to self-advocate (if not already doing so).
