used car warranty, repair denied had car 1.5 weeks?

Bought a used car at a large brand name dealership, the A/C condenser has a leak and its $800 to fix. The car has a 60 day 100% labor and 100% parts warranty. It was less than 2 weeks and we found the problem. They say the A/C is not covered, although it not excluded on the warranty paperwork. Also says under state law "implied warranties" may give more rights... In California.

Read the warranty again. 99.999% of them are only powertrain warranties.

There is no lemon law for used vehicles.

well now that you know this dealership does not do what you think is right don't go there and don't recommend them to anyone else. most used car dealers warranty the drive train only anyway. And your lucky if they choose to honor that. The problem with an in house warranty is what you just ran into. They made a decision you didn't like. Now lets just hope you have no more problems

In the future be advised that the only good warranty is a factory warranty on a new car. Most dealerships do not do warranties and the biggest problem is what you just ran into.

In the future don't take someones word that they will honor what they say they will do. .

Speak with the manager, or General Manager, of the dealership. Bring the warranty paperwork with you. Tell him you feel you were scammed, by buying a vehicle with a 60-day warranty...a warranty that conveniently "doesn't cover" the repair you're needing. Try to work something out with them before seeking legal advice. There may be fine print in the warranty that you didn't see. If it says ANYWHERE in there that they have the right to approve or deny any repair for any reason, you're screwed...might as well find a repair shop that will do it cheaper. Usually, if they're a chain and you threaten to go above them to get someone to resolve the matter, they'll cave and fix it. Nobody likes negative pressure from their boss.

Does it say "bumper to bumper" warranty or just power train warranty? The AC condenser is not part of the power train. If they knob you around too much just drive the car through the front window of the dealer and walk away! They will get the hint AND enough advertising to put them out of business!!

you will no longer get your a reimbursement yet what you're able to do is examine the wording of the guaranty and notice if the subjects you have are coated contained in the guaranty many warranties are actual valueless and not nicely unquestionably worth the paper they are written on

CONSULT with a LEMON LAW lawyer, and use SMALL CLAIMS court for issue. WHAT kind of car is this?? try 1-800-ALL_EURO for good NEW pump rpcies. Many cars use DENSO compressor pumps, even on GERMAN cars. IF it is a DELCO or FORD car, there are other sources for this. MORE INFO PLEASE!!
