Have you ever given much thought to either of the following?

Parasitic twins and vanishing twins?

Parasitic twins occur when a twin embryo begins developing in utero, but the pair does not fully separate, and one embryo maintains dominant development at the expense of the other.

A vanishing twin, also known as fetal resorption, is a fetus in a multi-gestation pregnancy which dies in utero and is then partially or completely reabsorbed by the twin.

Update:

@ amber, I take it you didn't read any of what I posted. You probably wouldn't show as being pregnant with twins.

@Sam, why would it be horrible? Its a natural occurrence.

No. I don't ever plan on having children so I don't worry about things like this. I've never even heard of such cases and I'm assuming they are rare and would make life very difficult for those affected by it.

I think about a lot of things that don't concern me! I am 32 weeks with a boy, but twins ran in my family. I think about all the possibilities of what could happen. Either case would be horrible!):
