My knees are aching severely at night and I can't find any relief?

I get in a hot tub of water, I take NSAIDS, ibuprofen, and I take prescription medications. They prescriptions take the edge off but don't really take the pain away. I was hoping that maybe someone here has experienced what I am trying to cope with and may be able to advise me what helps them at night. I don't know if I may have chronic fatigue syndrome, fibromyalgia or just osteoarthritis in my knees.

Update:

I find that cold makes it worse.

try icing your knees tonight. just get a bag of ice (large zip lock is fine) and a cloth - wrap cloth around zip loc and hold on knees for 20 minutes, then 20 off, then 20 on (just switch knees) this may help reduce any swelling and reduce the ache.

Might need an orthotic in your shoes to correct a foot issue - this can cause knee issues like you describe.

other than that need to see a doc
