Global Warming: HOAX or FACT?

In my place (Indonesia) many people still believe Global Warming and there's so many absurd campaign. They even make everything was related to global warming. And many farmers suffering because of that absurd campaign.

But when I ask to my father (he lives in London), he said it's hoax.

So what do you think about Global Warming? I need your personal opinion.

Thank you. :)

Update:

@David: Well, in Europe we don't believe Global Warming because of long winter.

    100% HOAX.

The earths weather/climate is constantly changing, from many different reasons. One of the biggest is the fact that the other planets (where humans are no where near) are changing and are pretty much changing right along with the earth. Why? Because the sun goes in very active warming trends and then cools off again.

It has also been proved that the sun triggers volcanoes and earthquakes here on earth by the energy that it releases..and it has long been known that volcanic activity is one of the biggest climate changers on earth.

It seems like any two bit person can call themselves a "climatologist"..but in the end they want to prove it with videos and quotes which are just the parroting of the 'evil people' being the cause of the changes, yet refuse to look at the other resources which have been around longer than man ever has.

    Hi Takao

I believe that the earth does have it's own process of Climate Change and that the pollution created by man, especially since the Industrial Revolution has caused great if not irreversible harm to the Earth's natural process. When I was growing up there were warnings from concerned scientists about things like aerosol sprays having very damaging affects on our atmosphere. They were dubbed as fools and yet today, because of the massive use especially of chemical aerosols, among other things, we have destroyed the protective ozone layer between us and the sun. Without the protective layer we are exposed to the harmful UV rays. It is because of this that today we have an epidemic of skin cancer, drought, hurricanes, increased water temperatures. The past two generations have been raised to believe that the sun is bad for them when in fact, we are bad to the sun. Today's generation is encouraged to purchase sunscreen products to protect themselves from the sun when yesterday's generation was encouraged to go and lay in the sun and absorb it's benefits to heal certain medical conditions. We destroy good things and then try to invent products to resolve the problems we create. Products that need to be purchased and many which do not resolve the problem and some that even create new problems.

Denying our pollution's adverse affects on global warming is, in my opinion, just related to money. Our world trade is based on money earned from dangerous products, (too bad that it wasn't earned on healthy products) and addressing the issue means that a lot of costly changes would be necessary. So for me, I think that too many folks are in denial because it's too tough on the wallet & easier to deny the difficult task of changing our ways. Unfortunately the deniers have been in control of our trade for years and so things have remained nearly untouchable. I do think that newer generations are evolving us out of that old system though.

HOAX So called environmental advocates have an ulterior motive such as a spot on T V to promote their book or something and trying to convince the general public that humans are generating C O 2 and NOX etc. and causing global warming.

I can't believe people think it's a hoax. It's 100% real, however it is often exaggerated - or inaccurate in it's predictions. I think denial is a coward's way out of it, especially with the evidence we have.

If it is a hoax the all of the greatest scientists in the world are in on it.

The Royal Society, the US National Academy of Science and all the leading science academies of the world say that it is indisputable that humans are causing global warming. "Indisputable".

The greatest physicist of our time, Stephen Hawking, told the Royal Society (the association of the greatest scientists in England):

"We have concluded the dangers posed by climate change are nearly as dire as those posed by nuclear weapons."

Either Stephen Hawking or your father is an uneducated idiot. And Hawking is a genius, so figure out which.

Unfortunately, Global Warming is a very real occurrence. It is caused by the burning of fossil fuels and other pollutants. They enter the atmosphere and act as a sort of blanket that traps sunlight near our Earth, causing it to warm slowly. This, when combined with deforestation, creates melting polar ice caps and other nasty things. Global Warming is not to blame for all bad things, though. So on the topic of Global Warming, I have to say TRUE!

  • Absolute hoax, here is the REAL reason behind our ever changing climate.

If anyone watched the recent TV series presented by Professor Brian Cox on the Solar system, and you knew anything about astronomy, you would see that the weather on Earth is affected by gravity, in exactly the same way as Io, a moon of Jupiter is affected. Io is a solid lump of rock the same size as our moon, which, due to gravitational forces, liquefies and causes volcanoes. The same applies to one of the moons of Saturn, the name of which I missed. EXACTLY the same forces that are causing the increased volcanic and earthquake activity here on Earth in the past 20 or so years due to the line up of the major planets and the Sun.

CO2 has no measurable effect on the climate!.

All one needs to know is that the earth has cooled for over a decade now. Yet the CO2 level has risen.

Mother Earth has proven Al Gore wrong. But yet Al Gore, even though he has lied, is getting rich.

Quote by Martin Keeley, geology scientist: “Global warming is indeed a scam, perpetrated by scientists with vested interests, but in need of crash courses in geology, logic and the philosophy of science.” And I might add morality.

    HOAX!

I don't believe it is a hoax, but it is grossly exaggerated, Co2 does cause some warming but it's nothing to the natural cycles we get.

LOL! The science of global warming was around before Margaret Thatcher was even born.
