It is ignorant to say the US is bankrupt?

The US has no problem borrowing from others or creating more money to pay its bills. You don't go bankrupt until you default on your obligations.

If you're living off credit cards and can't afford to pay the credit card bills, you're bankrupt.

The same goes for countries living off borrowed money that can't afford to repay what they owe.

The U.S. is in debt VERY deeply.

We continue to increase our debt every year at a VERY high rate.

    We are not bankrupt.

We WILL be bankrupt if the status quo continues.

There is NO sign of it changing.

We are bankrupt. We are deep in debt. If we would not send most jobs overseas, then, we would have more tax payers. If we didn't spread out our military; we would save money. If we didn't have wars, we could save on disability on vets and they could be more productive. If we would work on finding alternate energy; we would pay so much for oil when you add how crazy our strategies are to come by it. We will be bankrupt if we keep doing the same over and over and over again.

I cannot even begin to understand why the federal government continues to go further and further into debt year after year without expecting some type of dire consequences from such actions.

The US went bankrupt in 1933. Why do you think FDR pledged the "full faith and credit of the American People" to go to war. Why do you think you have a warehouse number (slave surveillance number)? You and your earnings are collateral for the national debt.

The Republicans are morally bankrupt. The US is not bankrupt.

$16 trillion in debt and record unemployment, foodstamp, and welfare rates say otherwise.

Source(s): But, let's take a second to think like a Liberal and ignore the facts: "As long as I get your money, we're doing great!"
