R&P: What are your top 5 prog metal albums?
Inspired by Elliot's question! :)
I haven't discovered anything "fantastic" in the progressive metal world for a good two months, so I hope you fellas can introduce me to something mind-boggling through your favorites-lists.
Here's mine;
ayreon - universal migrator part 2: flight of the migrator
guilt machine - on this perfect day
dream theater - train of thought
liquid tension experiment - 2
pyramid theorem - pyramid theorem / frost* - milliontown (both melodic prog rock/metal (borderline))
BQ: How's the weather where you are?
BQ2: Find anything fantastic musically recently?
BQ3: Favorite progressive rock/metal band?
[Jarett]
I dislike harsh vocals.
You do.
Don't patronize me for that.

BQ3: Wow, I can't pick just one. I'll give you 3: Marillion, Yes, Dream Theater
And awesome pick with Milliontown. I love that album, only reason it's not on here is because I don't really consider it prog metal....it's more neo-prog than anything.

BTBAM's "Colors" isn't on OP's list; null and void.
Between the Buried and Me - Colors
Protest the Hero - Kezia
Meshuggah - ObZen
Strapping Young Lad - Alien (I would say City, but City isn't really prog, whereas Alien is)
Betweeen the Buried and Me - the Parallax albums (both the EP and Parallax II)
BQ: Nice. According to WeatherBug, 46 degrees. So kind chilly, but not cold. It's nice.
BQ2: Nah.
BQ3: In no order: Periphery, Meshuggah, Protest the Hero, anything Devin Townsend, Ihsahn, BTBAM, Cynic
