For someone like him who has had a total disgust for gays and lesbians all his life to suddenly change his views in the name of Rebranding the GOP is like Adolph Hitler suddenly saying a total acceptance of Jews is needed in the Nazi party,

    Your remarks are right on target. Could not have been better stated.

    The GOP has exposed itself for 4 decades loud and clear and trying to wipe that out now is impossible. They can do all of the talking they want to, WE NOW KNOW very well who they are

    and the old guard of the GOP will never change. Change will come with the young and that will take a little while.

    Karl. And no. Establishment Conservatives have no choice but to accept it. And more of them do every day. Even former vice president Cheney supports gay people and gay marriage. It just takes love to make them see the light. So far, it tends to be people like in Cheney's case.. Parents who have a child who is gay. Thats why he supports gay marriage.

    In time though, they will have no choice. They are, as a party, losing that argument. They know it. Young conservatives must be considered, because as a whole they are not okay with this pointless anti-gay thing. Its mostly the old, establishment types. A dying breed.

  • No, all it is, is an attempt to regain the votes they drove away. Nothing in their beliefs has changed, the only thing they are doing is playing politics.
