S&W M28 as my first handgun?
I'm buying said gun in 2 days. $475 It'll be the first handgun I've personally owned. What do ya think? It won't be the first handgun I've used. Probably the biggest caliber.

That's a good choice. My first firearm was the Colt M1911A1 .45 which I still own and use. My dad's first gun was also an M1911 and he has it in the 9mm configuration. We have .22 conversion kits because .22 ammo is cheaper :3
If you change your mind, M1911A1 .22 is an excellent choice.
