Heat Gun Temperature Setting for iPod/iPad screen removal?
What is the optimal temperature to set a heat gun to loosen the adhesive holding the iPad and iPod Touch's digitizer assembly on? I have replaced a number of screens using a blow dryer, but would like to get a heat gun that will go to the correct temperature.

There isn't really a setting per say. I use a Wagner heat gun that puts out about 2200 deg F so it is really hot. I just ensure I keep it moving in patches of about 4 inches at a time and get that patch lifted. I then place safe pry tools under that portion and move to the next. After getting the next portion lifted I apply gentle outward pressure and start using gentle force to separate the glass.
Just be careful with the heat because you can fry the cables through the glass which you probably know and you can also easily cook the LCD pixels if not careful.
