Does anyone agree that Beavis and Butthead was/is awful?
I'm in my mid 30s now and it was popular back in the early 90s. I'm just watching a recent episode and it's as bad as it always was. It is and always has been completely unfunny. Plus the animation is crude and ugly.
Why was it so popular?

Now in my late 30s, and still find things to giggle at when I occasionally catch an episode. I put it down to it being an opportunity to be harmlessly immature, a little bit of escapism from being an adult with responsibilities.

The original Beavis and Butthead was freaking hilarious (in my opinion) Don't know if you've seen the new episodes that MTV have aired. But they suck. Bad.
Anyway it was probably so popular because...it's stupid. Stupid but funny. Like Family Guy and American Dad and all that jazz.
