Is it true the larger your brain is the smarter you are?

Some believe that the larger the brain the more intelligent you are. Small bugs are not that smart are they. Than it is said a house cat is a little smarter. Than you take a monkey that would be smarter than a cat. Than take a man, he would be believed to be the smartest of them because is brain is the largest. Is any of this example true or not?

Does brain size matter in how high your I.Q. is or can be?

Update:

I got that example from running into a video for YA. This guy Chris Langan gave the example of brain size on his documentary about himself. He believes he is the smartest on earth. I just like to know if any believes possible like he does that size of your brain matters to how well your brain functions.

Humans all have the same size brain so the size of the brain does not affect IQ. What does in the pathways in the brain. As you use your brain, you develop more pathways. That starts in infancy when the majority of the brain is exercised for the first time, but you continue to grow new neural paths throughout your life so long as you exercise them. Crossword puzzles, math problems, and learning new things helps to exercise the cognitive pathways. Physical activity exercises other pathways. If you've heard of muscle memory, that's a function of the pathways you've opened with physical activity.

Now brain size in other animals does affect their ability to learn. On the other hand, their brains are the right size for what they need to learn. Since they are not trying to learn rocket science and have no use for it, they don't need the cognitive pathways or brain size we do. However, we do not have the largest brains on Earth. That honor belongs to the sperm whale whose brain is six times larger than the human brain. What do they know? We don't know.

it makes no difference, a blue whale's brain is as large as 13.2 pounds (the human brain is around 3lbs) would you say a blue whale is smarter than a human? and men have larger brains than women, i've found that if anything having a larger brain makes you less Intelligent.

No. Though there does seem to be evidence that if a creatures brain has more 'twiddly bits' on it, it may be smarter than other creatures.

it,s not the size of the brain ,it,s what you put into it and use that counts .
