What does it say to you that if you rank states by tax rate from highest to lowest, 11 of the top 12 are BLUE?

And only 2 of the lowest 12 are BLUE? (NM and NH)

    It says that blue states have more welfare programs, and possibly higher incomes.

    @ Sarah: You should know that any funds those of us in the deep south receive primarily come from our state taxes and your states taxes don't support us in any way. Now federal dollars are a different matter all together and in that vain we also support your welfare programs so it goes both ways. Become educated and rational before you speak please b/c your ignorance is offensive to others.

    It says to me that once again someone is cherry picking statistics to make their side look good and the other side look bad.

    It tells me that blue states like to take care of their poor people while red states like to make sure rich people can keep more of their ill-gotten loot. It tells me who is truly committed to the teachings of Jesus Christ.

    It says that democratic blue states pay much more in taxes than do republicans. And we have to do so in order to support our welfare states in the deep south. You're welcome.
