  • Am I the only one who can no longer see my "notifications" icon on Yahoo! Where did it go?

    We used to be able to see if we had responses to postings from all pages on Yahoo... the it became just from the MyYahoo page and the Answers page. Now it's gone altogether! Is anyone else as frustrated with Yahoo as I am???

  • Are you for or against HR 684 (The Marketplace Fairness Act)?

    What is fair about making it mandatory for retailers to collect taxes for out-of-state purchases? In my opinion this will only increase the cost of goods for the buyer... and increase the cost of doing business for the seller. People will end up buying more from China where they are not required to collect taxes. Taxing internet sales is a HORRIBLE idea!

  • Do you think it is okay for Obama to spend $20 MILLION for family vacations?

    Given all the turmoil we have been going through regarding the "fiscal cliff" and now the raising of the debt ceiling, etc. -- DO you think it is fair to the people for Obama to spend over $20 million so he and Michelle can have a nice little family vacation in Hawaii? I think the money would have gone a LONG way toward providing disaster relief for Sandy victims -- and would have been a far better use of that kind of money.

    I would think the Liberals would remain in Washington to work on things like the economy and fixing the State Dept. instead of giving credence to a RELIGIOUS day.

  • Do you think the President should be given the power to override Congress?

    I have been watching the news coming out of Washington, and I am very disturbed over the White House trying to get the power to override Congress in issues such as increasing the debt ceiling. If the President has the power to override the Legislature we no longer have even a Democracy... we go straight to tyranny.

    According to our own Declaration of Independence; "We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.--That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed, --That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness."

    If our government has become so intolerable to a majority of people in any State, why should (or shouldn't) they be able to secede and start their own government?

  • Why is the main stream media still refusing to ask the hard questions regarding Benghazi-gate?

    With all the new whistle-blowers coming forward and showing not only that additional security was denied to Ambassador Stevens, but the Ambassador had sent emails and cables to Hillary Clinton and the State Department detailing the fact that several Al-Qaeda groups were operating in Benghazi and had infiltrated the security forces, how can the media continue to pretend the murder of our Ambassador and 3 other men never happened?

    They are still refusing to ask things I (for one) what to know BEFORE the election.

    1) Where was President Obama? He stated that he issued orders that "help be sent", but the help was DENIED 3 TIMES. Why???

    2) Why did Obama hop on Air Force 1 and go to a fundraiser in Las Vegas instead of following up on this terrorist attack?

    3) Since it is now apparent that the situation room in the White House was monitoring the attack in real time, whose idea was it to try to blame this attack on that stupid You Tube video and deny it was a terrorist attack for almost 3 weeks? (A blatant lie!)

    4) What is everyone covering up? Why is the White House stonewalling?

    I can say for sure that I would NEVER vote for the President without knowing what the administration is so intent on hiding!

    According to Rasmussen poling: "Even with Americans poised to pick a president and one-third of the nation’s senators, most voters continue to feel the federal government does not have the official approval of its citizenry. One of the central tenets of the Declaration of Independence is that “governments derive their only just powers from the consent of the governed,” but just 25% of Likely U.S. Voters think the federal government today has that consent. Sixty percent (60%) believe the federal government does not have the consent of the governed. Fifteen percent (15%) are not sure."

  • What do you think Obama wants to "be more flexible" about with the Russians?

    President Obama had the perfect opportunity to explain what he meant when he was caught on microphone with Putin last spring. However, he chose to ignore the opening and not explain. This leaves me wondering what else he isn't being open about. (Libya?) And isn't he the one who said we needed to be open with our allies? What about the American people? Don't we count?

    A Sept. 1987 article in the New York Times reported:

    "Senator Joseph R. Biden Jr., fighting to salvage his Presidential campaign, today acknowledged ''a mistake'' in his youth, when he plagiarized a law review article for a paper he wrote in his first year at law school.

    Mr. Biden insisted, however, that he had done nothing ''malevolent,'' that he had simply misunderstood the need to cite sources carefully. And he asserted that another controversy, concerning recent reports of his using material from others' speeches without attribution, was ''much ado about nothing.''

    Mr. Biden, the 44-year-old Delaware Democrat who heads the Senate Judiciary Committee, addressed these issues at the Capitol in a morning news conference he had called expressly for that purpose. The news conference was held just before he presided over the third day of hearings on the nomination of Judge Robert H. Bork to the Supreme Court.

    To buttress his assertions of sincerity and openness, Mr. Biden released a 65-page file, obtained by the Senator from the Syracuse University College of Law, that he said contained all the records of his years there.   • Am I the only one who feels the Libya is going to become "Obama-gate"?

    I feel that Biden made a huge error last night saying that neither he nor the President knew what was going on... "it was all the DOD and the State Dept." What "malarkey"! Either the present administration was uninformed (which makes them totally incompetent), or they let it happen for some hidden reason they don't wish to share. Either way it makes them look bad!
