The Y!A spell-checker is one of the biggest jokes on the site. It always seems to be checking the spelling in some language other than the one I am using. Ignore it. It also used to call "online" a misspelling, even though the word "online" was used in one of the Y!A categories. *sigh*
Myself, I use the spell-checker in my browser and simply ignore the Y!A one. I'm on Firefox and found it under Tools > Options > General. I checked the box that says "check my spelling as I type."
That spell-checker is trustworthy and customizable. To add words to that list, right click on the word it flags. You'll get choices of other correctly-spelled words to use and a choice to add the word to the spell-checker's dictionary.
Laugh at the Y!A spell-checker and then just ignore the darned thing.

Not. It is a tad ridiculous that it didn't recognize your misspelling of ridiculous though.
