I've been friends with a mate for 7 years but recently he's moved in with an older woman with a kid and spoke of possibly marriage. But I haven't seen him since December and the last time he text me back was January. Can anyone please share their knowledge?

If you are worried, I would recommend discussing it with him. Moving in with someone is a big change and can sometimes unsettle other relationships. It is important to see where he wants to take your friendship, and decide whether to cut it off completely or remain friends. If you decide to stay friends, you need to work on your relationship, because not speaking to each other for long periods of time doesn't make for a healthy friendship. If either of you doesn't have time for the friendship or no longer wishes to be in it, you need to be mature and make decisions based on what will make both of you happy.

Sounds like he's just caught up in a chapter of his life right now- that doesn't mean the friendship is over. True friends can go months without talking and then hang out just like no time has passed at all. Give him some time to enjoy his new family- maybe you could offer a get together that could include your buddy, his girlfriend and the kids.
