Other Christians: 2 part question. Was it blasphemy for Jesus to call himself the Son of God?
I should have explained better. The Jews would've had a legit reason to crucify if he said he is God Almighty. But, John 15:25 But this is to fulfill what is written in their Law: 'They hated me without reason.'

Jesus did not tell them that he was God, rather he told them that God was his Father. Further, he referred to his Father as his God, and said the Father is greater than him (John 14:28; John 20:17).
It was not blasphemy for Jesus to call himself the son of God. Jesus is in fact the son of God (Luke 1:30-35; John 20:31). However, the Jews accused him of blasphemy and did not receive him (Matthew 27:43). Jesus told them that if one would have come in his own authority they would have received him, but he came in the authority of his Father, who is God, and they didn't receive him (John 5:18,30,43).
Notice how Jesus answers the Jews accusation, he refers to how others were called gods according to the law. He compares that scenario with himself and asks them rhetorically, "If he called them gods...say ye of him, whom the Father hath sanctified, and sent into the world, Thou blasphemest; because I said, I am the son of God?"
John 10 (KJV)
33 The Jews answered him, saying, For a good work we stone thee not; but for blasphemy; and because that thou, being a man, makest thyself God.
34 Jesus answered them, Is it not written in your law, I said, Ye are gods?
35 If he called them gods, unto whom the word of God came, and the scripture cannot be broken;
36 Say ye of him, whom the Father hath sanctified, and sent into the world, Thou blasphemest; because I said, I am the Son of God?
37 If I do not the works of my Father, believe me not.
God, who is the Father, sent Jesus (John 17:1,3; John 8:42). Jesus said, "This is the work of God, that ye believe on him whom he hath sent" (John 6:29).

No because it was true and it was also true that He was the Father manifest. The glory of God veiled in human flesh.
