Usually it is the goalie in net for the game winning goal. But If the score is 4-0 when the goalie is replaced and goes to 6-3 and then 7-5 the first goalie takes the loss even though the sixth goal (game winner) was scored against the second goalie.

If on the other hand the score goes from 4-0 to 4-4 and finally 7-5 the second goalie gets the loss. ///ly if the losing team actually takes the lead at 4-5 before losing the second goalie takes the loss.

Whichever goalie gives up the game winning goal gets credited with the loss.

And the goalie for the winning team that's on the ice when the GWG is scored is the one that's credited with the win.

  • The goalie who lets in the game-winning goal. There was one such game earlier this year--the Panthers at the Caps. The first two shots on Markstrom went in, and he was pulled after giving up that second goal less than four minutes into the game. It ended up being a 7-1 blowout, but because Markstrom let in that second goal, the GWG, he was "credited" with the loss and a SV% of .000 because both shots he faced went in.

nicely, i think of the respond is that Hasek is ageing......i think of that it became a mistake for Hasek back decrease back interior the 1st place.....Manny Legace became a respectable goalie and that i became disillusioned to work out him pass.....Osgood and Legace could are starting to be to be the activity performed this 365 days the comparable as Osgood and Hasek.... word that Hasek did start up the playoffs....yet after determining that he couldnt be trusted at this element in time, Babcock made the flow and put in Ozzie, and stored him in. I assume Osgood to start game a million of the finals, and that i do no longer see that changing except Babcock makes a decision there's a reason sufficient to accomplish that. After Hasek leaves this 365 days, we could have Osgood and a no one. Osgood wont be around for too plenty longer, possibly 3 or 4 years, and we choose somebody to fill that hollow. Legace became sufficient for that, and now that he's long gone, we can ought to pass out and locate yet another goalie to usher interior the recent college of purple Wing Hockey. to respond to the question, if the Wings win all of it, then of course Osgood ought to get the credit. it particularly is because of the fact Osgood might have performed each game aside from two of them. Osgood and Hasek chop up the known season distinctly gently between them, each and each of them playing the comparable volume of video games. It became the two one among them that have been given us to the playoffs and the President's trophy, yet inevitably it is Osgood which will end off the season with the Stanley Cup in our palms. optimistically. Boy ask your self
