Why doesn't my Christian family let me share my growing interest and tell them about science and space?

Why don't my Christian family have any desire to learn the details of the universe. I don't know everything but there are a lot of interesting data on the internet and the universe. They don't ever seem very interested in it. I just get stuck with them caring about Easter, Jesus and prayer.

I am going to read all about the big bang now I see there are answers to it. I just dislike the fact others in the family care less. I like to share my side of it all, what opens my eyes and interest me. Far as I see they have no need for the stuff I like to share with them.

Update:

It is taking me some time and I am learning but slowly as time passes me. I love math and astronomy a good bit now. I am just curious to know a little more about us sometimes. I suppose what interest me is in conflict of how the view things.

I went today for Easter dinner and was just staring. I did my best to be nice. They just did the care for Christian thing. This is why I can make grounds with them. They share what they believe and disregard anything I may have regarding the world and learning new stuff.

If, by chance, you are not trolling.............

Perhaps today isn't the best day for it? I mean, it IS the day many Christians celebrate the Resurrection of Jesus (not the Eastern Orthodox; they do so May 5) so perhaps they wanted to share their faith.

Personally, while I myself never discount science and never dismiss it, I have no interest in it. God bless you that you find it so fascinating perhaps someday there will be something we can all learn from you. That is not meant as sarcasm; I mean it sincerely; I have no more interest in science than many people have in history, which I myself find fascinating.

We American Christian should Not and Do NOT define what Christ taught .

As a Christian I accept Evolution as a reality and personally Love Astronomy .

But answer this question if you will

Have you ever seen Dark Matter

    or Dark energy ?

What is it made of ?

Dark Matter may bend light - so scientists noticed something and gave that something a name .

That is what we humans do from ancient times on up to the present.

I know how you feel. I watched a video on Einstein recently, fascinating. But all the atheist comments below were only about his disbelief in God, or Spinoza's God. I wanted to know about E=MC^2, but they didn't care about the science, just whether it disproved God

I don't know. Go ahead and do what you want. God did some pretty amazing things out there--you'll see that! Don't use the internet as your source. What's wrong with Jesus?

Because reality contradicts their beliefs and they treasure their beliefs more than reality.

Because reality frightens them and threatens their flimsy faith.
