what stops me from cancelling my Blue Cross and wait to get sick to start paying again?
I've paid for BC Insurance for about 45 years. But now I find I am struggling to afford it. Since insurance companies are made to accept just about everybody, why can't I just wait until I get sick?

You could...but lets say you cancel it...in two years your in a horrible car accident or fall down the stairs or something serious and they take you to the hospital and your there for hey even a month.right there...hmm 100,000 minimum if your lucky. or lets say u get cancer..if u dont have health insurance i dont know what u would do. i know what u mean though as hey when i get cancer ill start back and not tell them for a few weeks then say omg i just got cancer. maybe someone knows about that but blue cross prob knows every scam in the book and will contact every doctor. the MOST important thing is EMERGENCIES!!!

Isnt there a waiting period on individual policies?
Maybe the insurance exchange will offer you a lower price.
If you have been paying for insurance for 45 years, you are no spring chicken and you will pay more for insurance.

That portion of 0bamacare is not going to become effective until January 1. When it does you'll only be able to enroll during the open enrollment period which, unless regulations change, will be from October through December.
