    here's what i suggest

i think your thesis is too specific...i see you are saying that the monarchy is what caused the french revolution, but it wasn't just because of the over taxing, but because of multiple factors that dealt with the monarchy

Support 1 - go more in depth with the financial situation that was caused by the monarchy

for ex. the financing/debt/defeat of the Seven Years War, the nobles/clergy weren't taxed

Support 2 - is more about the Third Estate and the agreement that the country will go to a consitutional monarchy...this shows the failure of the monarchy

Support 3 - i'm not sure where you're going there...

Counter-Claim - it was everything but the monarchy's fault...basically, marie antionette and louis were king and queen at the wrong time

the other factors to the French Revolution were the shortened tempers of the people because they had no food due to bad weather, an increase in population, and since the people with similar ideas were so close together mobs were easily formed

remember to always go back to your thesis...your paragraphs have to support your thesis

Les Miserables is NOT about the French revolution.

The French revolution was in 1789.

The events in the book and all movies, is the 1832 JUNE REBELLION, by students. Which failed miserably.

Later rebellions and uprisings brought about the Republic............but too late for those on the Barricade in Les Miserables.

That's why they were miserable..........because they fought and died for their dream......but did not live to see it.

But they INSPIRED later revolutionaries.....which is why that June Rebellion was important.............failure that it was.
