If the U.S. went to war with North Korea, would you support the war and our military?

Public support is a huge deal when it comes to war. There was massive public support during WW2 and America came out the most powerful country in the world. There was very little support in Iraq and Vietnam and look how that turned out. Would you support a war with North Korea? What if they attacked us?

If North Korea really represented a threat to us, if they attacked us first here at home, every young man between 18 and 30 would drop what he was doing and line up at the recruiters.

Since WWII we have used our military more than 100 times. Most people couldn't name more than five or six, in fact most people don't even seem to be aware of most of the times we've attacked or invaded other countries.

But when a president wants a war he will grossly exaggerate the threat posed to us by the other country. The media can usually be counted on to cheer-lead for the new war, and anyone who disagrees will be called un-American or subversive or--a new one for the Iraq War--an APPEASER. So it's just possible a president could get a 'critical mass' of Americans (NOT a majority) to approve of an invasion of NK. After several years, thousands of lives, TRILLIONS of dollars, with nothing to show for it, most people would now oppose the war, as happened with Vietnam, Iraq, etc.

Personally I would never support an unnecessary war, a war of aggression, a war without pre-defined objectives, etc.

I would strongly oppose any pre-emptive strike against North Korea.

If they attempted to invade South Korea or bomb Japan, I would support a war - but only if it had very specific goals, like "Depose Kim Jong Un," not vague goals like "Occupy the region until it turns into a flourishing Democracy."

There wouldn't be time to even worry about that. In less 48 hours the US and its allies could completely destroy NKs ability to conduct any military action. What you would be asked to support is not actual military action but the $billions they would for to rebuild what was destroyed.

    I am generally anti-wars.

I don't support any war unless it is against fascism like in WW2.
