For those who believe morality comes from religion, what do think of this?
http://abcnews.go.com/Technology/god-moral/story?i...
It outlines that researchers have discovered that other apes also show altruistic traits and tendencies (i.e. the beginnings of morality) and so proves that morality does NOT come from an "outside source".
Here is NY Times article that provides more background to show you that it is MORE than ONE researcher.
Edit: That "outside source" was just an oblique comment to say that morality is something that has evolved (of course it is influenced by outside factors) and is not something that is "directed" or "mandated" from some "heavenly" source.

Morality comes from instinct. The brain, genes... call it as you will. It IS influenced by outside sources.
There are many other animals which exhibit moral behavior. Moral behavior does not mean "good moral behavior" - that entire concept is relative. Even among humans, morality varies.
Still, there are some examples of amorality that occur in nature and in humans. These trace back to brain defects, which again shows that morality derives from biological factors (instinct).
Humans didn't create morality, it is naturally occurring. Humans cultivated morality.
Determined moral systems are not necessarily a logical, rational process. It often is emotionally driven. The moral determination center of the brain is not the frontal lobe where logic takes place. The moral center of the brain can be affected with TMS (transcranial magnetic stimulation) to change a person's propensity to process things morally. (It is not a permanent affect with current technology.)

They will deny it as being pseudo science. Mankind created morality (socially acceptable behavior) when we first began living a communal existence. Most higher animals exhibit moral behaviour.
Religion has been found ot be the most efficient means of imposing the morality of the few onto the many, simply look at history.

>Why might little ones instinctively help others with undemanding projects? that fairly matter on the toddler, and extra particular on the toddler's age. Very youthful infants, who've only began understand-how language, tend to obey you and do despite you tell them to. even with the shown fact that, while they get a splash older they arrive to attain what the notice 'no' potential, and after that, whenever you ask them to do something, they constantly say 'no'. I knew one toddler as quickly as, approximately 3 years previous or so, who became into so opposite that he might constantly, and that i advise constantly, do the wonderful opposite of despite all and sundry informed him to do; he might actually exchange his ideas in an instant with the aid of fact the guy chatting with him commencing making the alternative request, and can desire to additionally be taken benefit of in this type fairly fairly. That reported, in case you like a spiritual answer on your question, properly, maximum christians might in all probability inform you that youthful infants are 'extra harmless' and 'closer to God' than something people and fairly circulate alongside with morality extra beneficial than we do, despite in the event that they have not got as finished an understand-how of it.

@Gregory: "so a fool utters nonsense and its taken as fact"
Yes. But enough about Jesus, this question is about animals with altruistic traits.

LOL , morality is innate insofar as we know how to understand morality. Projecting an assumed moral behaviour on animals is equivalent to believing our dogs love us.

Morality has to be a logical, rational process else there is no moral decision to be made.
If your morality comes from instinct, then how can you be held responsible for your actions any more than a dog can be held responsible for barking at a cat?

so a fool utters nonsense and its taken as fact
only one man did research not many
quote from article
(One of the world's leading primatologists believes his decades of research with apes answers a question that has plagued humans since the beginning of time. )
the man believes, wait i thought people did not believe, its either true or its not true
just because that man believes it is true does not mean it actually is true
