What would an alternative health practitioner want with dental plaque?
I am a dental hygienist. I had a patient rhe other day that goes to an alternative health clinic. He asked me if he could have some of the plaque/calculus I was scraping off his teeth. He knew it was a strange request, and said that his health practitioner said she wanted a sample of it.
Now, I am very curious about all facets of the health sciences (dentistry in particular), so of course, I asked him why. He had no idea why, just knew that he was to bring a sample to his next appointment.
Can anyone tell me why the practitioner would want a sample of dental plaque?

Perhaps the practitioner wants to make a homeopathic remedy from it. "Like cures like" you know? Its a cure for dental caries....
Who knows with alternative medicine crackpots, it could be anything.

EDIT: actually it's almost certainly to test for allergies or toxins - using some dubious method to come up with some equally dubious diagnosis...

Ya exactly it to analyze to possibly verify and im not sure exactly but to maybe see the types of bacteria that have accumulated or accumulation of minerals from saliva on plaque on the teeth..... Clearly there is a reason for such a demand i dont think he collects them as an activity lol

Why would anyone assume that all dental plaque has identical composition?
Obviously to analyze the composition.
