  • Why does my son's insurance company want our info?

My son lost his licence and is just now getting reinstated. He is dealing with a new insurance company, and for some reason, they want my and my husband's names, birthdates, insurance company and policy number. I can't say that I'm interested in giving them any of that information; sounds off to me. If anyone has any ideas as to why they'd want this info, please let me know.

  • What would an alternative health practitioner want with dental plaque?

I am a dental hygienist. I had a patient rhe other day that goes to an alternative health clinic. He asked me if he could have some of the plaque/calculus I was scraping off his teeth. He knew it was a strange request, and said that his health practitioner said she wanted a sample of it.

Now, I am very curious about all facets of the health sciences (dentistry in particular), so of course, I asked him why. He had no idea why, just knew that he was to bring a sample to his next appointment.

Can anyone tell me why the practitioner would want a sample of dental plaque?

  • I have 20 inch rims and would like to put 17s on for the winter. How do I calculate what size tires I need?

20" rims look great on the truck, but they're murder on the wallet. I'd like to put something smaller on for the winter. How do I calculate what size tire I need to compensate for the difference in rim size? I currently have a 275/60/20. 17s or even 18s would save me bucks, even with the purchase of the new rims.

  • Clam digging and wharf fishing in PEI?

I'm interested in digging bar clams and quahogs on PEI. I never seem to come across them when I am digging for soft shell clams, so they obviously live in a different environment. Any ideas where I can find them?

Also, I would like to take the kids fishing off one of the local wharfs. Here in NB you can get a nice catch of flounder. Anyone know if it's the same on the island? We'll be in the Malpeque area, but are willing to travel. North Rustico looks appealing.

  • Why are the horses used for polo called ponies? Aren't they horses?

I know the term 'pony' is used for smaller horse breeds, but what about polo ponies? Aren't they large enough to be called horses? Someone want to clarify this for me?

  • This week's Supernatural.?

Ok, this is driving me crazy, and I can't find an answer on the 'net, but was it, or was it not Jim Carrey in a cameo appearance in 'The Real Ghostbusters', as the guy with the hook and the Scandanavian accent who was murdered by the ghost boys???

  • teen and drug use!!!?

My 16 year old came home late last night. He was supposed to be sleeping over at a friend's house, but came home early because he felt sick. He vomited repeatedly. He didn't smell of alcohol and didn't appear drunk, but after we both went to bed, I hear him vomiting again. I got up to check on him, and he was in bed, lying in his own vomit! Said he just didn't feel like getting up. He was not unconscious. I made him get up and change his clothes and the sheets, and again, he didn't appear to be intoxicated. This morning he didn't seem to be hung over, but he didn't eat much today (he did have breakfast).

Is there any kind of drug that would affect him this way???
