NIACIN defiantly niacin. I have heard a lot about it working for depression and anxiety so try it out its vitamin B3 go to a health food store and ask for a good bioavailable brand do some research and figure out the right dose start small though because a side effect is flushing of the skin. Its not bad its just you blush and turn a bit red but temperately and later on goes away as u get use to it.

Also stress and anxiety can be something you can overcome mentally i know that mediation or yoga is a great way to relieve stress. I know it sounds odd but im not insinuating you become a Buddha or something just for the benefits, as meditating can be seen as something that is essential and very relaxing.

What you can do is in bed cross your legs and clasp your hands together. Regardless just sit very very conferrable. Then for as little as 5 min the more the better you focus on your breath in and out of your nose always and keep your mind always focused on your breath but not consciously like your forcing the breath just make it do it on its own youll get the hang of it eventually and just follow it in and out keep focusing on that your mind will wonder off eventually so just return to the breath afterwards. Before or after all this or you can just do this if you want for mental stability, you can just talk to your self again conferrably and imagine all the stress anxiety and negative stuff to release form your body and fill it in with positive good stuff whoever you like it and just talk to your self in a positive way im confident that if you try this out over time you will see benefits. But you cna also try the niacin if you like its worth a shot.

Kava - by far better than Valerian. Look up the many studies conducted using Kava as a treatment for anxiety and depression. Plus it will not give you that hungover, hard to wake up feeling Valerian has the next day. I highly reccommend looking into it. I have struggled with anxiety for 12+ years and have tried almost every herbal remedy out there along with Ativan, Xanax, etc. Check out www.DrinkKalm.com for an easy ready to go drink.

For anxiety i have tried various herbs. Valerian and Passionflower herbal tablets do seem to relax you. I think there is one called Kalms...which does make you feel calmer. For depression, St. John's Wort is supposed to be good, but only for cases of mild to moderate depression. I have never tried it but know someone who has felt better for taking it. Have you tried a chinese herbalist? They can mix herbs specially to suit you. Good luck x

Valerian works for moderate anxiety and moderate insomnia. Skullcap can help. Lemon balm is my favorite. I grow my own, it grows like a weed and also a great anti- viral. gaba works for some people. Aromatherapy can help too. nothing like a cup of honey lemon balm tea with the smell of lavender and chamomile in the air

Valerian Root certainly helps some people but it has no effect on other people.

Prescription medication for anxiety, stress, depression and worry can give you bad side effects so natural remedies are often much better.
