Springfield XDs .45 Vs. XD .40 sub-compact?

I'm looking into getting my first hand gun for a CC. Its between the

Springfield Armory 40S&W Sub Compact XD with 3" Barrel, or the DX-S Compact 45ACP.

I don't mind the extra kick from the .45 and the XDS45 is actually smaller/more thin than the XD40. Bigger round in a smaller gun, I really like that. But the XD40 has 12 round double stack mag where as the XD45 has a 6 round single stack.

I just don't know.

Opinions, preferences, comments, ideas?

Thanks!

After you put about 20 rounds through the .45 you'll have a good feel for the weapon's recoil. Go with the 45 and take an extra mag with you. Springfield, eh? You choose well.

I carried a Glock 27 for three years on the job. It was a department gun so i didn't get to hold it after I retired, but I do have a Glock 23 that i love lots and have owned for close to 20 years. I've considered getting a Glock 27 as it is so much simpler to conceal than the 23 and it is usually one hundred% dependable. I've seemed on the XDS and that i fairly don't just like the outside protection.. Having been in just a few gunfights in my 29 years in legislation enforcement and strolling a SWAT/Tactical unit my experience is that the less complicated a weapon is to convey into motion, the simpler. On the subject of probably the most contributors who indicated he carried his gun without a cartridge in the chamber, i am hoping he under no circumstances has the get together to wish it because the lengthen prompted by having to chamber a round could also be fatal. Moreover, even as there some tricks that can be executed one surpassed and they're far from easy, it willl traditionally require both fingers to chanber a circular. Verify into what occurred to one of the FBI sellers in the FBI shootout in Miami-Dade County because it illustrates what occurs when you have been shot and cannot use both arms to look after yourself and/or load your weapon.
