Since the National Firearms Act of 1934 legally-owned machineguns have been used in crimes a grand total of two times.
Not sure who keeps track of criminals...and criminals do not respect or obey the law anyway.

there are many people that do own machine guns (full auto)
but I really can't remember hearing of them being used in a crime except maybe that bank robbery in cali where the robbers had full armor on
why do criminals not use them well they are large rifle size and criminals want something they can hide
you don't hear of many robberies or home break-ins where the criminals use any kind of rifle ether
you would think that when a gun is used in a crime the criminals would get punished hard but the truth is lots of them get the charges lowered
maybe that should be changed

The same damage can be done regardless of firing rate. In fact in the US most mass killings are done with semi auto or bolt action rifles (Charles Whitman). Regardless of caliber, fire rate, or purpose if somebody wants to kill others they will find a way. Firearms bans are dumb and the best prevention of accidents and shootings is proper child raising and teaching respect for the weapon. All a gun is is a few pieces of metal, wood, and plastic nothing more. Gun control is about control! Look at any country where the leader has called for gun control. They lead themselves into slavery and oppression. Most advocates of gun laws are people who never owned, fired, or dealt with firearms, or has a personal agenda due to a gun accident to someone close to them. That is not a valid reason for banning firearms. That's like banning crab because you heard its nasty but never tried it or you got sick eating it once.

So Gun control is a military matter now? Sounds like a political one. Military weapons are only fired at targets or the enemy.
