Aguirre, Wrath of God was a very memorable film; probably one of the best I've ever seen. Fitzcarraldo was great, but a notch below. The Enigma of Kaspar Hauser is a really strange movie: it's not very dramatic, but the actor who plays the main character is just fascinating to watch. It's not as "great" or visually striking as Aguirre, but I found it to be more interesting.

The only documentary of his I've seen is Grizzly Man, which was good, but I prefer his other works.

Bad Lieutenant is actually a really good sequel/remake, but I'd have to say that his best is the documentary Encounters at the End of the World -- it's insightful, beautiful, weird and surreal all at the same time.

    Some honourable mentions:

    - Fitzcarraldo

    - Nosferatu the Vampyre (incredible remake of an incredible film)

I think I like them all except Strosack. My favorites are My Best Fiend and Incident at Loch Ness.

  • I haven't seen many. I liked his recent work, though. My Son, My Son, What Have Ye Done was really great. Michael Shannon was brilliant. It had a rather Lynch-like vibe to it, and that really drew me to it.
