How could people be soo name ignorant?!?
For example: Aaliyah/ Aleeah: does anyone even know what an Aliyah is? This name is misspelled and mispronounced... It's what u say when a Jewish person moves to Israel or goes up on the bimah (stage) at synagogue to read from the Torah!!
Or Ronit! Prn Row-neat. Some ppl think its prn Ron-it, someone said its a boy name and some ignorant boob even said it wasn't a real name! It's an Israeli GIRL name, it's my SISTER'S name!
I mean how can so called "unique" names Iker and Aaliyah be acceptable but Ronit is not liked! So annoying! Do u have any other examples!?
Bill- Paula is a Germanic name meaning small do ur research dumba$$
Alicia- FU!!!
What abt Ronan? Do u know its an Israeli name? Talia?
Ppl just pick names bc they think they sound cute and that's so dumb! Names should represent religion, family ect. Shouldn't be some made up cr*p

What about all those "ethnic" names coming out of the poorer black communities?
(Hate to say ghetto...but...)
Shaneequah
Bonqueesha
Shnayha
LaShondrah
LaTonya
Or naming your kid after high-end merchandise
I personally know someone named Adidas.
Adidas. Seriously!
Then there's Mercedes, Porshe and all the other silliness.
Why not just stamp "ghetto trash" on the kid's forehead and be done with it?

1. Aaliyah, spelt with the 2 A's in the front is of Arabic origin and means something like "exalted". The 2 A's is an accurate transliteration for the Arabic, representing a sound the doesn't occur in English.
2. African Americans often use Arabic names. Aaliyah was made popular by the African American singer, who died tragically in a plane crash.
3. What should it matter for people who aren't Jewish?
4. Why would people who aren't familiar with Hebrew or Israeli names pronounce Ronit correctly? It's a foreign name. Deal with it.
5. Why did your parents call your sister Ronit (an Israeli Jewish name) but you Paula (a Western Christian name)?

paula
i mean does anyone even know what a paula is?
EDIT:
Most people that don't speak German don't know what that means. What if Aaliyah or Aleeah or an "ignorant name" means something in a language that is unheard of from you?
the point is that names don't need to have meanings dumba$$

Yes, and you are small minded with a teensey tiny brain with an A at the end of an ugly boy's name
And you are classy too! Great mix!

Chill. Name popularity comes and goes like hair styles. One day straight hair is in, the next it's curly. People are going to go with what they think sounds prettiest, and Aaliyah sounds pretty and feminine
