Half my kitchen is out of electricity ,why?

I am working at cleaning the kitchen and when I open my refrigerator there is no light , so I start checking plugs etc and notice the whole south side of my kitchen is totally out! So I'm thinking breaker tripped for some reason but when I check it hasn't been tripped! I flipped it anyway and still no electricity! Whats up with that? The rest of my house is fine.

Look for the GFCI in your kitchen and reset it. That the plugin socket with the two buttons in case you didn't know.

i just went through this not to long ago. If you have a ground outlet first check and make sure its not tripped. (ground outlet is the outlet with the two buttons on it) if its not tripped take a lamp or something plug it in one of the outlets thats not working make sure you have it powered on. Then take something else that plugs in it can be just a phone charger start going from plug to plug plugging it in, keep checking to see if the item you have plugged in comes on each time you plug in to a diffrent outlet if it does which ever plug you have the charger or whatever you use in has started going bad and needs to be replace immediately because it can start a fire. If that doesnt find the problem you need to have someone check to see if your breaker has gone bad. I hope this helps. Also after you check the plugs you need to trip the breaker until its able to be fixed.

Your kitchen is normally wired off two different circuits

one for major high drawing appliances.

    The other for lighting.

Many times changes are made against code and this may effect your electric use.

Check out the two circuits and see if the bulb in your refrig is burned out first before starting this procedure.

Look for the second breaker see if you have a appliance on a lighting circuit.

This is a classic case of "is the glass half full or half empty?"

I hate to say this....but half of your kitchen being out of electricity is not your problem.......it's the OTHER HALF THAT HAS TWICE AS MUCH! Yeeeeeeoowooowowowwwwwww.....

In all seriousness, whatever you do, don't start touching wires, disconnecting sockets, or fooling around with dangerous stuff.

Good luck and I hope that you can find a professional who is inexpensive, efficient, and cordial during when your kitchen is being torn down and remodeled in an effort to exorcise the electricity demons.

Most likely a bad recep or connection at the recep. Check the wiring on the last good recep and the first bad recep.
